A full day of learning, shooting, and growing confidence with your camera.
Beginner Photography Workshop
18th October // Manchester
Ever picked up your camera and thought… where do I even start?
You’re not alone.
This one-day Beginner Photography Workshop is designed for people who want to feel comfortable behind the camera without getting lost in all the technical jargon. No pressure, no egos, just a relaxed day in Manchester learning the essentials, practising with your camera, and building confidence shot by shot.
We’ll keep it simple: how to use your settings, how to find good light, how to compose a photo that actually works. Then we’ll head out together on a guided photo walk where you can put it all into practice, with support right there when you need it.
By the end of the day, you’ll walk away with a set of photos you’re proud of, the confidence to keep experimenting, and a clear idea of what to practise next.

What you need to bring
Your camera – DSLR, mirrorless, or compact with manual settings. (If you only have your phone… you’ll still learn a lot, but a “proper” camera will make the day way more fun.)
Charged batteries – plural. One always dies quicker than you think.
Memory cards – empty ones. (Deleting last year’s holiday snaps on the morning train is not the vibe.)
Comfy shoes – we’ll be walking a bit. Think “photo walk”, not “marathon”, but still.
Weather-appropriate clothes – Manchester can do all four seasons before lunch.
Notebook & pen – if you like scribbling down tips instead of trusting your memory.
Snacks & water – brain fuel. We’ll have coffee/tea, but never underestimate the power of a sneaky biscuit.
An open mind – cheesy, yes, but honestly the most important thing.
